Making Remembrance Day Poppies
Year 2 were set with the task to make Remembrance poppies for our Springbank school display. We have been learning about the importance of the poppy and why we observe a two minute silence on the 11th day, of the 11th month, at 11 o'clock. The children made poppies using cupcake cases, first we painted them - trying our hardest not to get any paint on ourselves! Then, we drew and cut out some leaves whilst we waited for the paint to dry. Finally, we rolled up some black tissue paper for the middle and glued it all together - we think they look amazing!
