Mayan Gods:
In history today, the children learnt all about the Mayan's beliefs. Using our prior knowledge, we understood that the Mayan's believed in many Gods and that each of these Gods represented a different part of the Maya lifestyle. Like the Egyptians, the Maya would perform rituals to gain favour with the Gods and communities would often make sacrifices to the Gods in order to please them.
Once the children had learnt all about the Mayan's beliefs, they then had a go at creating a double page spread which encapsulated all the knowledge that they had learnt. Miss Lanaway and Miss Robertson were so impressed with the effort from the children. Take a look at some of their hard work below!
