Writing 21.01.22

Over the past two weeks, the children have been using something called 'colourful semantics' to help them write coherent, detailed sentences. 

They used pictures to help them form different parts of the sentence when, who, doing what, where and why/give more info. 

e.g During the long cold night, the little brown boat bobbed silently on the wide, blue ocean whilst the waves crashed around it. 

 

They have also begun to think about using expanded noun phrases e.g. long, cold night and adverbs e.g. silently.
