Today in science, the children took part in ‘the shoebox investigation’. Each group had a variety of different items including: a torch, tea light candles, tin foil, a bauble, a mirror and a fluorescent jacket. They placed each item inside a shoe box so that it was immersed into darkness. They then peered through a hole to see if they could see the item. If they could, they knew that it was a source of light. If they couldn’t, they knew that it did not produce light but was a reflector of light.
