Today during English, we launched our new writing topic: news reports!
The children were very excited to get started and we began by looking at an extract taken from our novel, The Iron Man. The children then had to summarise what had happened in each paragraph of this extract, focusing on key events that they will re-write in the next couple of days.
Once they have written up their own re-telling of the story, the children will use this to record their very own news report. We will be focusing on using an expressive tone of voice to create tension and drama!
