Science materials 12.01.22

Materials

Our new topic in science is materials and this week we have been identifying and naming different materials around us including stone, plastic, fabric, wood, metal and glass. The children enjoyed a materials hunt with the iPads to find objects in the school environment made from different materials. The children have also learnt to distinguish between an object and the material it is made from. Why don't you show your child some objects at home and see if they can name the object and the material? e.g. A fork is made from metal, a chair is made from wood, a window is made from glass.
