Parents' Views

Working in partnership with parents is of paramount importance to us here at Farsley Springbank.  We believe that working closely with parents, helps us deliver the best possible outcomes for all our children as we aim to ensure that all our children become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

This section of the website has been set up share parents feedback, comments, suggestions and findings from parental surveys.  You will find this information further down the page.

Feedback from parents is really important to us as it enables us to identify possible ways to keep improving as we strive to 'be the best we can be.'  There are many opportunities for parents to provide us with feedback, comments and suggestions:

  • We carry out a parent survey annually
  • We ask for written feedback following every parent open session.
  • On every newsletter there is a slip asking for feedback that can be returned to school.
  • Alternatively parents can e-mail me directly on s.percival@farsleyspringbank.co.uk

When there are individual concerns, we will contact you directly to discuss them further.  When more general feedback or suggestions are received on possible improvements, we aim to share this with parents through either newsletters or our 'You said, we did' documents.

Parents views of our school

The feedback and comments from our annual parents survey and open sessions for parents are overwhelming positive about many different aspects of our school from the school ethos to the teaching and learning to the staff.  It is always lovely to hear about what you feel we are doing well and what you feel the strengths of the school are.  Here are some examples of comments made by parents about our school.

I am very proud to have had both my children at Springbank. I love the village school atmosphere.  It is always a really happy place to be and love the way Miss Percival and all the teachers, teaching assistants and office staff interact with all the children.  The children are encouraged to be the best they can be.  I like the way that badges, certificates and awards are given for different qualities. The teachers take a lot of interest in the children and their outside interests.  The lessons are well constructed and organised.  The school days seem to be very structured and there is a good balance between learning and leisure.  Thank you all so much.
Always impressed with staff commitment and availability of staff for discussion should it be required.

The staff have the ability to tune in very quickly with each child-to work out their strengths and set targets to achieve the best from individuals.

As parents we have been extremely happy with how our child has progressed.  I’m sure that this will continue as she moves through the school.  Springbank has really put ‘the spring’ in my child’s education.
I feel each child is recognised for what they good at whether that is academic or physical etc.  Each child is valued in their own right.  The staff at Springbank seem to enjoy their work and don’t treat it as just a job.  They love and care for all the children in their care and make learning an enjoyable experience.  The whole school trip to Filey was an excellent day out and the children will have memories forever.
