Talk for Writing 28-02-2020
Today, the children began learning the story 'Handa's Surprise' using the Talk for Writing approach. This involves children reading a text map through pictures and words and coming up with actions to help them remember. They then rehearse the story until they become very familiar with it and can retell it without support. This will form the basis of their next writing unit where the children will innovate the text map and make changes to write their own version of the story.
