Ancient Egypt launch 21.02.23
Ancient Egypt:
In year 3, we have officially launched our new learning challenge: Ancient Egypt! The children (and teachers) are so excited about this history topic and we cannot wait to get our teeth stuck in to all the gruesome details, such as mummification!
Today, the children began by looking at some artefacts. Using background knowledge, the children had to look carefully to try and deduce what they thought each artefact was and what it could tell us about the Egyptian civilisation. They made some excellent predictions on post-it notes and then as a class, we revealed what each artefact actually was.
After this, the children then went on to complete a STEM challenge in small groups of 6. Each group was given 15 minutes to make the tallest pyramid they could using only spaghetti and marshmallows! Some of the structures they built were fantastic, take a look at some of the photos below.
