Springbank Sports Day 2015
Another thoroughly successful sports day this week saw Lions crowned as champions following a very competitive afternoon of events. All the children did themselves proud with an impressive display of speed, agility and coordination which culminated in one of the closest finishes we have seen in many years; Lions taking the title by just three points (which is the difference of just one race)! The individual awards saw Sophie Thompson claim the Springbank Sportsmanship trophy for her wonderful performance in the Year 3 sack race. In Year 6 both Carla D and Leah G were named as winners of the Callum Johnston Cup for their dedication over the last four years while Aidan S and Billy M picked up the Barry James Trophy for the boys for their similar commitment to Springbank sport. As always, there are numerous Year 6s who could have claimed the awards because of their talents in physical education and we are very fortunate to have such passionate athletes in our school. Finally, we would like to thanks the supporters for spending their afternoon with us and adding their vocal support to the event – without the crowd it just wouldn’t be the same event. Thank you!
