Ancient Egyptian day 29.03.21

Year 3's ancient Egyptian day!
Year 3 were very lucky today as they were visited by a very special guest - Catherine Conyard. The children were immersed in a day dedicated to learning all about ancient Egypt. Building on their prior learning, the children began the day by looking at some artefacts and predicting what they were used for. The answers were then revealed to them when they took part in mummifying a body and quickly realised that many of the artefacts were tools to remove organs! The children especially loved looking at the hook which removed the brain via the nose! After lunch, the children looked at ancient Egyptian writing and weaponary! They even had a go at creating their own hieroglyphs!
