Moving Mechanisms

 

So far in Design and Technology this half-term, the children have learnt about sliders and levers and know that a lever moves on a pivot point. Today, we have built on our understanding of a pivot by making a wheel mechanism. The children cut out a wheel and used a split pin to create a pivot point that the wheel could spin around. The children had lots of fun designing a character who could change his/her emotions with a spin of the wheel.
