Pencil Sketching Techniques 05.01.2022
During Arts Week, Year 6 are focusing on how burning fossil fuels adds to global warming and the current environmental crisis. We have studied an artist called Olafur Eliasson who focusses on using art to highlight current global issues and we are applying this idea to our own art project surrounding smoke from burning fossil fuels and coal flueled power stations. To begin our art project, we practiced using a range of drawing pencils to create different shading effects. We explored how light and heavy pressure affect the outcome, as well as using different shading styles such as cross-hatching, stippling, circulism and contouring.
