Within our DT project the children have been learning about a Victorian Engineer called 'Isambard Brunel'. Brunel designed many different structures for example bridges, boats and tunnels.
After being inspired by Brunel, the children built structures of their own!
We discovered that for a structure to be stable it must have a wide base, stacked bricks that overlap and free-standing structures can sometimes need extra supports called buttresses.
