Cooking 30.03.22



This has been a really busy week in year 5 as we've been working on our DT project! Over the last couple of weeks, we looked at balanced diets and investigated to understand what makes a diet healthy. We thought about the five main food groups and categorised popular meals such as fish and chips. Our aim was to design a meal based on a tomato sauce which featured our choice of vegetables as well as a carbohydrate. Most of us chose pasta! 


We tested this so we knew about the different flavours that we would be putting in our meal. We used these taste tests to design our meal before finally, cooking it! We learned a range of chopping and frying techniques and ended up producing a delicious meal! 


Well done year 5, they looked delicious!
