Endangered Animal Day 15.02.19

Amazon Rainforest

After a fantastic half term learning about all the wonders of the Amazon rainforest, Year 5 held their endangered animal day on the last day of term. Year 5 invited the rest of the school to join them in dressing as endangered animals for the day for a small donation, in order to raise money to buy an acre of the Amazon rainforest! As well as this the children were able to show the rest of the school all their new found knowledge about the area, its wildlife and the dangers that it is facing. The children were able to participate in lots of games and fact finding missions, as well as a presentation that Year 5 had produced! We were particularly happy to be able to show off our clay models which have now been fired in the kiln and the wonderful work that the children produced at home. The children had a fabulous time showcasing their topic and dressing as animals for the day and were thrilled to have raised enough money to help support the Amazon. Well done, Year 5!
