Sorting Animals 17.11.20
This term the children are learning all about animal classification and are learning why certain animals belong to different groups. For example: A dog is a mammal because it has hair all over its body, it is warm-blooded, it is a vertebrate and it gives birth to live babies that drink milk. Today the children learnt about birds and reptiles and then in groups, worked hard to sort the pictures of the animals into Mammals, Birds and Reptiles. They then justified their choices by writing an explanation. We were incredibly proud of the children this afternoon - Well done Year 1.
