Diwali 14.10.19
This week reception have been learning all about Diwali. We started the week by telling the story of Diwali, talking about the characters and understanding the reason for celebrating. Can your child name some of the characters?
We had a special guest from Year four who told us all about how she celebrates Diwali with her family. Then, we had a go at making our own preparations for Diwali! Some of us made Diya Lamps, whilst others made some beautiful Rangoli patterns outside in the playground using powder paint. Lots of children have noticed the similarities and differences between Diwali and celebrations that they have experienced.
We ended the week with some traditional dance which everyone enjoyed! Maybe the children could teach you a few moves at home.
