Year 6 studied the events leading up to the end of World War 2. We then studied photos from the time and created a freeze-frame in groups, thinking about the individual experiences of the people in the photographs. Children were tasked with using their background knowledge to create a story for the people in the photographs, explaining their thoughts and feelings about their personal experience during WW2. Once we had freeze framed our photographs, we spent time hotseating; allowing the children to question each of the groups about their World War 2 experience.
