At the beginning of the week, Year 6 received a very important and urgent letter from the War Office. Due to the outbreak of World War 2, children across the country have been tasked with designing a new type of air raid shelter to help save city dwellers from the terror of the Blitz. After spending some time looking at structures and exploring shapes, we created a design and then spent time using different materials to build our prototypes. As you can tell from the photos below, the classrooms looked like they'd been in the Blitz by the time we had finished! The next step is to test our prototypes...!
