Murton Park - The Romans
Year 5 had a fantastic day immersing themselves into the life of a Roman soldier. As a new recruit their main aim was to impress their centurion. The pupils worked hard completing tasks such as: clay modelling, combat practice and drill practice. They even had to sign a contract to prove they took their role seriously.
It was a good job the children were so quick at learning their newfound skills, as the fort was attacked! The children were prepared to scare their Celtic opposition off by marching forward in a testudo formation.
