1S Outdoor Maths - time
We are currently learning about time and measurements of time in Year 1. As it was such as lovely morning, we decided to take the maths lesson outside! The children worked in groups of 3 challenging each other to complete as many activities as possible in 1 minute. They made predictions and then compared these to the final count to see how accurate they were.
Ehaan - 49 press-ups
Emily - 76 hops
Buzz - 4 laps of the playground and wrote his name 9 times
Olivia - 20 cartwheels and 9 hops
Daniel - 60 lines
Charlie - 24 push-ups and 1 lap of the playground
Rosalie - 4 laps of the playground
Aggie - 100 hops and 4 laps of the playground
Benjamin - 27 laps around Miss Smith (she felt very dizzy just watching this) and 10 hops
Sophie - 29 spins and drew 10 fish
Hamaya - 39 squares
Thomas - 3 laps of the playground
Hudson - 2 laps of the rectangle and wrote several numbers
Mikey - 2 laps of the playground
Bobby - 4 laps of the playground
Isaac - 6 laps of the playground
Ariya - 75 lines
Edie - over 100 crosses (accidentally over 5 minutes...)
Emilia - 20 star jumps
Noah - 2 laps of the playground
Luna - wrote her name 18 times
And...Sofia was very sensible as she chose to help count and not take part in any activities with her poorly arm.
