Feedback from KS2 and Y1 Open morning March 2017

Y1 parent

‘Good to see what types of work the children do with their learning partners and how this works in practice.  Nice to see the focus for the writing work which will help me when supporting with home learning.  Nice to see the variety of methods used for teaching.  Loved the noodle dance thing.  They did need that mini break and I now know why my child has been singing the songs at home.’

Y1 parent

‘Loved watching, it was faced paced, no time for the children to switch off.  Lots of creative ideas that will really stick with the children.  Loads of positive praise and encouragement.  Very calm tone from the teachers and class had a lovely atmosphere.  Great dance/music interlude!  Good teamwork from teachers with smooth transitions.’

‘Was lovely to sit in class and watch the children learn this morning.  The teachers do a great job.  They help the children to interact with other children which really helps, especially for those shy ones.  Class 1BD work brilliantly together.’

Thank you very much for having us today Miss Hellewell!’

‘I like how all the children and their teacher say “good morning” to each other at register, rather than “yes” or “here”.  A nice greeting to start the day.  Maths – learning fractions all the children involved in problem solving and not afraid to share answers and try to explain reasoning, as it was made fun by use of activities.  Great for confidence and helped learning and understanding.  I really enjoyed the session as I was able to work with my child and some children on his table.  I actually enjoyed solving fractions.’
