Which tree is which?
The children went on a nature walk around the field and school garden looking closely at different trees. The children were asked to gather leaves and any seeds that they had spotted beneath the trees. We looked closely at the seeds and leaves that they had collected, specifically looking their different shapes and variations. At the end of the session, the children were able to use their experience and knowledge from the session to name a variety of trees based on their leaves.
1G session with Mrs Fletcher
The children from 1W went outdoors twice this week. They worked with Mrs Fletcher to find and name different seeds and they learnt the names of trees based on their leaves.
They also did an autumn walk to search for signs of autumn such as leaves that are changing colour and conkers.
