Year 4 had a brilliant time on their first trip of the school year to Saltaire. In the morning, the children did a workshop with Maria from Saltaire Village Stories, who came in costume and character and taught the children more about Titus Saltaire and the creation of Saltaire. The children were given a bookmark with information on it about a real person who lived in Saltaire during the Victorian Era. They were then able to find out about their family members and where in the village they lived, where they worked and how long they lived for.
In the afternoon, we headed out to take a tour around Saltaire so the children could see where their characters lived and the buildings that Titus built for his workers.
