Clay animals 15.01.19 - 16.01.19
Over this half term, Year 5 are delving deep into the depths of the Amazon. As part of this topic we were lucky enough to have a visit from a clay artist. From elephants, to spiders to jaguars, we sculpted a range of exotic animals. We looked closely at their features, including the spider’s hairy legs to make sure that we got all the details correct. Sam, the artist, taught us a range of techniques, which we practised throughout the day so that we were able to make two clay models each. Now, we just have to wait for the clay to dry and our masterpieces to be fired in the kiln before we can see our fabulous creations!
