Straw plane investigation
Mrs Simmonds came to teach Science in 2R and 2I today. First, we thought about what we could change to make a straw plane travel different distances. We thought about changing the length of the straw, the size of the circles and even the shapes. We worked with a partner to make our planes and after lots of sticky masking tape, we took our planes into the playground to carry out a real scientific investigation! We used metre sticks and markers and collected numerical data in a table. Back in the classroom, we analysed the data and drew conclusions about what the investigation had shown us. The children worked so well together in their pairs and lots of children were very excited to discover that their scientific predictions were correct! Well done Year 2.
