In Maths the children have been looking at and exploring 2D and 3D shapes.
As a class we have been identifying and naming different shapes based on their properties e.g. how many faces, vertices and edges the shape has. This knowledge then helped us to identify and name the 3D shape.
In class we have focused on many 3D shapes e.g cylinder, cube, cuboid, cone and sphere. The children have learnt how to group the shapes based on similarities and difference. We can even spot the odd one out and give an explanation as to why we think this!
The children were then asked to be detectives and go on a shape hunt outside and around the school to spot and record the 2D and 3D shapes that they have found.
