Year 4 had a lovely day out visiting the Victorian mill town of Saltaire. We met Mrs. Dowsey, a real life Victorian who told us all about life in Saltaire. She also gave us very important roles to play as the former citizens of Saltaire! We learnt all about Sir Titus Salt and his shrewd business ventures, how the town worked and what it was like for the workers.
Afterwards, we explored the town, visiting sites like the much hated bath house and finding the houses where the Victorian characters we had learnt about had actually lived!
It was a great day out! Much better than working in the mill!
