Alba the 100 year old fish
Today, year five listened to a live reading of the story of Alba the 100 year old fish. In this picture book, we follow the story of Alba who loves collecting beautiful objects in her home at the coral reef. Over time, her home becomes destroyed and in her desperation to find more objects, she becomes trapped in a plastic bottle which has been discarded in the ocean. A young girl then works with her town to clean up the beaches and the oceans in order to be able to release Alba back to the coral reef. Following this, we listened to a question and answer session from the environment agency all about how schools can help make the environment better for people and wildlife.
