Ancient Greek Day
To launch our topic on Ancient Greece, we had a visit from an archaeologist called Katerina. Katerina talked to the children about what life was like in Ancient Greece and explained to them how we know so much about the civilisation. Katerina led the children on an archaeological journey filled with various activities to immerse them in Ancient Greek culture. To start the day, the children were shown a range of artefacts which they were asked to investigate to try and work out what they were! They were then shown the Ancient Greek alphabet and set out decoding a set of words all about Greece before competing in an Ancient Greek game. In the afternoon, the children took part in an art activity before spending some time trying on and learning about Ancient Greek armour and warfare. We can't wait to find out more over the course of the Spring term!
