This half term, the children are investigating how to make a free standing bridge out of various different materials. First they researched existing structures around school and then had a go at creating their own structure out of different construction materials.
The children learnt that their bridge must be strong and stable and experimented with different ideas to create this strong, stable structure such as adding a buttress for support or using a wide base.
