Art - Charcoal drawing
This half term we have been studying the work of Kathe Kollowitz to better develop our understand of the medium of charcoal. The children have experimented with sketching pencils and vine charcoal to practice their shading skills and we have studied the correct ways to ensure we stick to proportion when doing observational drawing. In their final pieces, Year 4 did some beautiful sketches of elephants using all the techniques they have developed.
