Snow Zone 30.01.25
Today the children from 1B had an absolute blast at Snowzone. They split into three groups and worked their way around four different activities. They started with a presentation about polar regions while the children enjoyed a hot chocolate and cookie snack. Then they set off to complete three different activities. One activity was sledging. The children enjoyed every moment of this activity whizzing down the slopes squealing with excitement. The next activity was to learn a bit about what it would be like to take a fully loaded sledge on a polar expedition. Half the group played the part of the equipment and food for the expedition (sitting in the sledge) while the other half of the group had to pull/push drag/ the sledge along. They soon found it was not too hard until they hit the hill! They also took a few moments to make snow angels and snow bells before moving onto their last activity to set up a polar camp. The children worked in teams to make a quick emergency style shelter using rope and a foil blanket and then a dome tent. They had chance to explore other camping items to provide light, heat and nourishment.
The children listened well, and kept in good spirits even when they had wet feet!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
