Autumn 2 Week 1 04.11.24
This week the children have begun their new topic all about Africa. We started by answering the question 'What does the world look like?'. The children sung the continents song and used atlases to name and locate all the continents, the poles and the equator. They even had a go at completing a map.
Other challenges this week included sorting animals into their groups according to their characteristics (mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians), writing about Bonfire night and creating Bonfire Night art with pastels and chalks, writing out systematic number bonds and creating the perfect outfit for an autumn day.
Our new DT project got underway with some research of existing products including moving pictures - the children had great fun exploring lots of different mechanisms in pop up books and learnt the terms slider. lever, wheel mechanisms and pivot.
We also began singing some of the songs for the Christmas concert - watch this space!!!
