Autumn 1 Week 4
This week in science we have started learning about the 5 senses. We have tested our sense of hearing and touch to try to identify mystery objects. This was much trickier than we initially thought it would be but it was great to hear the children talking about each container and using their reasoning skills to work out what was inside.
Our art skill this week has focused on collage and manipulating paper to create different textures and effects. We have created autumnal pictures experimenting with scrunching, tearing, folding, bending, curling and twisting paper.
In writing we have challenged ourselves to write lists using our phonological skills to write longer more complex words. We chose the theme of birthday parties and the children have had a great time being creative with what they would include on their lists for the best birthday party ever!
Road Safety Training
This week we had special visitors from the road safety team. They reminded us about how we should cross the road safely and also about using seatbelts every time we travel by car.
