Wow, what a lovely first week back Year 3 have had!
We are so impressed with how quickly the children have settled into their new routines and we can't believe how much learning we have done already! On Tuesday, we launched our new class book: The Twits. We went into the garden to discover that Mr Twit had covered our trees in toilet paper and left behind an array of clues which directed us to him!
We also began our topic on the Stone Age, where we learnt about the three different parts: the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and the Neolithic then created a human timeline out on the field. The children were so excited to find out how long ago the Stone Age was when one child was told to run to the other end of the field holding the card.
In science, we launched our light topic, where the children learnt that a light source is something that creates its own light. They then carried out an investigation using different objects to test which were light sources and which were not.
In maths, the children started their first unit which looks at the place value of numbers. They have practised using a range of manipulatives to help their understanding.
We have loved seeing the children settle into their new life in KS2 and we can't wait to see what the rest of Autumn term is like!
