Art (Henri Matisse) Summer 2
This half term, Year 3 have been learning about the artist Henri Matisse and have been looking at his style of collage. They first did some research and learnt about him as an artist then created a research page on him. After, they did some observational drawing outside in the school garden of different types of leaves as his art work was inspired by nature. Next, the children learnt about complementary colours and then looked at work done by Matisse, picking out the complementary colours then painting them using watercolour paint. Finally, the children worked as a group to produce a large scale Henri Matisse inspired collage.
