The children have had a fantastic second week back at school and are really beginning to grasp the new routines and expectations in Year 2.
In maths, we continued our learning on place value, using the part–part–whole model to partition numbers up to 100. The children then progressed onto flexibly partitioning numbers in different ways, showing growing confidence and understanding.
In writing, we began exploring a new book called Knock Knock. The children loved making predictions about what might be behind the door each time and shared some wonderfully imaginative ideas!
We also enjoyed our first trip of the year to Skelton Grange. The children impressed us with their knowledge of survival skills and it was fantastic to see them working together, communicating effectively and solving problems as a team.
It has been a busy, exciting week and we are so proud of how well the children are settling into Year 2!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
