Another busy week that has gone by in a flash. This week we have delved further into the lives of the Peaceful family in our class text, Private Peaceful. We have followed Charlie and Tommo into their teenage years and are excited to see where life takes them with war on the horizon. We have been looking at how we can use rhetorical questions in our writing - using these to write persuasive speeches around joining the army at the start of World War 1. Both Miss Brayshay and Miss Ferguson were astounded by the quality of our first real piece of writing - keep it up Year 6! We have also finished out unit on Place Value in maths and began our new unit all around addition, subtraction, multiplication and division by looking at problem solving with adding and subtracting. Throughout all of this, we have enjoyed time in the outdoors learning about aspects of the war and how to orient a map, looked at reflection in science and enjoyed time with our friends at break and lunch. There's no such thing as a quiet week in Year 6!
