Autumn 1 Week 3

Year 2 have had another fantastic week of learning!

In maths, we continued exploring place value by working with number lines. We practised counting in 10s and 1s all the way to 100 and even created a giant number line outside. The children had great fun jumping along the line as they counted and worked carefully with their partners to spot which numbers had been secretly removed.

In writing, we carried on with our story “Knock, Knock! Who’s There?”. The children came up with some brilliant verbs and adjectives to make their sentences more exciting and we can’t wait to use them in our story writing next week.

In geography, we explored compasses and the four key directions: north, east, south and west. The children used these skills outdoors to find different objects and then gave their partners instructions to follow using compass directions—it was wonderful to see such teamwork and careful listening in action!

Another busy and brilliant week in Year 2—we’re looking forward to building on all this learning next week!
