Year 2 Weekly Update
This week in Maths , the children have been building on their number bond knowledge and applying it to subtracting from a 10 whether its 10, 20, 30, all the way up to 100. They also took part in a fun shape activity, drawing lines to create different shapes, identifying them and then colour-coding each one.
In Writing, we explored the poem “If I Had Wings.” The children thoroughly enjoyed reading and performing the poem, adding their own creative actions to bring it to life. We were so impressed by their confidence and enthusiasm!
It has also been Arts Week and what a fantastic week it’s been! The children have taken part in a variety of creative experiences, from poetry readings and drama workshops to watching exciting performances by Back Chat Brass. To finish the week, Year 2 completed their art project inspired by Andy Warhol, producing their very own unique and colourful prints.
