Week 8 - Arts & Culture Week
This week, the children have mainly been immersing themselves in the Arts, with many different activities and workshops throughout the week.
On Monday, we had the opportunity to create a poem all about Farsley with a poet and we begun all our art challenges in class. This week, we wanted the children to practice some of the skills they had learnt over the term such as sketching, watercolour paints, colour mixing and adding texture with paper. They have been creating some lovely seasonal art using these skills such as autumn trees, collage pumpkins and Rangoli patterns for Diwali.
On Tuesday, we walked to Sunnybank Mills art gallery to see the exhibition there entitled 'Broken//Make Shift'. The children were all really interested in the art and the sculptures they saw and we were really proud of how well they represented school at the gallery. They each had a favourite piece of art - why not ask them and see if they can remember what it was made from?
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
