Year 2 have had a fantastic first week back after half term and have impressed us with their enthusiasm and positive attitudes.
In maths we began learning the tens and ones method. The children showed great resilience and focus as they used dienes to support their understanding of this new strategy.
In writing we returned to a surprise in our classroom – an egg had been left over the break! The children were full of curiosity and asked thoughtful questions about where it came from. They also made exciting predictions about what might be inside.
We have also launched our new DT project. The children were delighted to discover that they will be designing and creating their very own gadget case over the next few weeks.
A highlight of the week was our walk to Meanwood Park. The children had a wonderful time listening to birds, spotting wildlife and enjoying time in the park. Their behaviour and attitude were excellent throughout and we were incredibly proud of them.
Well done for a brilliant start to the half term Year 2!
