Autumn 2 Week 2

This week, Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Harewood House, where they completed a 4.8 mile circular walk, taking in all the beautiful surroundings, including some deer! The children represented our school beautifully and showed great enthusiasm throughout the day. πŸšŒπŸ›οΈ

In maths, we have been learning how to convert improper fractions to mixed numbers (and vice versa). The children have showed excellent focus and determination as they practised these new skills. πŸ”’

In science, we carried out an exciting investigation on gravity, dropping objects from a height to see whether the mass of an object affected how fast it fell. The children made thoughtful predictions and worked carefully to record their results. βš™οΈ

In outdoor learning this week, the children took part in a creative activity to make poppies for Remembrance Day. They reflected respectfully on the importance of remembrance while enjoying time learning in the fresh air.

To end the week, we celebrated Children in Need! The school came together to support this important cause, dressing up, taking part in fun activities organised by the school council, and showing kindness and generosity throughout the day. πŸ§ΈπŸ’›
