Another great week has been had in Year 3!
In maths, we did some more practise on the column method for addition and subtraction outside in a maths hunt! We then started our new unit: multiplication and division. Over the next few weeks, we will be doing lots of practise on times tables in lessons.
In writing, we continued to practise writing compound sentences. We then wrote a diary entry from the perspective of Maya, the main character from our class story, A Night at the Frost Fair.
In PE on Monday, we practised our passing and dribbling skills. We did a range of drills to do this, working alone and in a partner. In PE on Tuesday, we did our second mission as part of our Commando Joe's enrichment unit. Inspired by Ed Staffords achievements, we had to work as a team to get across the 'Amazon River'. We had to watch out for dangers on the way, such as crocodiles and snakes!
In history, we learnt about the Iron Age. We looked at a range of Iron Age inventions and had to use our historical enquiry skills to figure out what they are and what they were used for. We then created a poster to teach others about the Iron Age.
On Friday, it was Children in Need. We all came dressed up in yellow, spotty and Pudsey Bear themed clothing. We then designed a Pudsey Bear, did an assault course and a scavenger hunt, run by the Year 6 school council representatives.
