This week, Year 5 had a wonderful and action-packed few days of learning!
In maths, we have been adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator. The children showed excellent concentration and resilience as they applied their knowledge to increasingly challenging problems. 🔢
In English, we completed our persuasive leaflets for Endangered Animal Day. The children worked hard to use emotive language, rhetorical questions and powerful facts to encourage others to help protect endangered species. 🐾
In PE, we developed our teamwork and communication skills through a water-transporting challenge. The children worked collaboratively in groups, discussing strategies and supporting one another throughout the activity. 💧
During outdoor learning, we explored forces in action by using push-pull systems to lift a bucket of water. The children were fascinated to see how different forces made the task easier or harder, and they enjoyed experimenting with the mechanisms. ⚙️
On Friday, the whole school came together to celebrate Endangered Animal Day. Year 5 did a fantastic job running a range of exciting activities to raise money, helping our classes adopt an orangutan. It was wonderful to see everyone dressed up as animals and joining in to support such a meaningful cause. 🦧💚
