6B Maths through Play 4.12.2024
One of the key drivers of our curriculum is integrating play-based learning into every day life. This means giving the children chance to figure out, investigate and learn through self-discovery by engaging with the world around them. Today, 6B were learning to convert between metres, centimetres and millimetres. Children were given a variety of methods to measure and tasked with finding objects, measuring them in the most appropriate unit and then converting this using their previous knowledge of converting metric measures. To enhance their learning, we took this outside of the classroom and used the outdoor areas to give children the opportunity to work with increasingly large numbers.
