Year 6 Netball
Today 10 children from Year 6 represented Springbank at an inter schools netball tournament at Priesthorpe. The children made a great team and their sportsmanship was praised as 'excellent' by a member of staff from another school. The tournament started with lots of nervous faces, but the children played well going on to score 4 goals in their first game and 5 in their second. After winning both of their group matches the children played an excellent semi final, coming back from 2 goals down, to win the match 4-2. In the final, the play was extremely close, with several shots at goal, but Springbank were beaten 1-0 in the closing minutes. They made excellent runners up and we were very proud of them. Special thanks goes to the two boys who joined the team on Monday to allow us to play in a mixed tournament. Well done netballers!
