Spring 1 Week 6
Well, it's been another busy but fun week in Y6. From walking to writing, maths to outdoor learning, we have had a varied week of activities, despite the wet weather!
In maths, we have been completed our unit on algebra and our last few lessons were on solving problems with two unknowns and finding pairs of values. The children enjoyed this topic and some even asked for extension work! We continued with our morning arithmetic and we completed our maths SAT's practice papers this week. The children have worked especially hard and should be congratulated on their efforts - brilliant, Y6!
In writing, we have completed our non-chronological reports on our wierd and wonderful imaginary creatures and we were so impressed with the quality and content of all pieces that we decided to display them in the classroom and hall. The children put in 100% effort and should be very proud of their writing and art work!
The children had fun in science this week as they were investiagting how the volume of a buzzer or the brightness of a bulb can vary in a circuit depending on the number of components used or the volatge of batteries used. It was a very busy and interactive session and the children throughly enjoyed making different circuits and finding out if their predictions were correct.
